Huntington bar surrenders liquor license following fatal shooting

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A popular bar in Huntington has surrendered its liquor license following a fatal shooting of a teenager outside of it earlier this month.

The Hot Corner Bar on the 1400 block of 4th Avenue surrendered the license after having it suspended last week by the West Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control Administration.

Tyler Asbury, 19, was shot outside of the bar in the early hours of August 4 following a fight that started inside of the bar, according to Huntington Police.

Asbury died that evening from injuries sustained in the incident. Officers are investigating the case as a homicide.

No suspects have been named and no arrests in the case have been made.
