RISE West Virginia increases number of completed homes to 58

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The number of houses completed in the RISE West Virginia program now sits at 58 residences.

According to the West Virginia National Guard, 40 other homes are in active construction. Eighteen homes are mobile units and 17 projects are reconstruction projects.

West Virginia Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters worked on a home in Kanawha County, completing foundation and elevation block work.

The National Guard said there are 392 active cases under the RISE West Virginia program; 316 projects have been awarded to a construction contractor or sub-recipient, and 35 projects are out for bid and undergoing a state procurement process.
