Death of 3-month-old girl under investigation in Nicholas County

FENWICK, W.Va. — The death of a 12-week-old girl is under investigation in Nicholas County.

A news release from the Nicholas County Sheriff’s Department said ambulance crews were dispatched to a residence in the Fenwick area at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday. The baby was not breathing.

The child was pronounced dead at Summersville Regional Medical Center. The body has been sent to the state Medical Examiner’s Office.

The death is under investigation, the sheriff’s department said.
