HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Authorities on Wednesday night were continuing to clean up from a house fire that began that afternoon.
According to first responders, two people were working on a car at a home in the 4300 block of Siders Avenue. The car caught on fire and spread to the home. No one else was at the residence at the time, although six people lived at the home.
The house was destroyed in the blaze. One of the men involved bought the car for his wife earlier this year.
The American Red Cross is assisting the family.
The Huntington Fire Department, Barboursville Volunteer Fire Department, Ohio River Road Volunteer Fire Department and Cabell County EMS responded to the scene.
