Kanawha elementary student found unresponsive on bus

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A 9-year old student was found unresponsive on a school bus Wednesday morning at a stop at Kanawha City Elementary in Charleston.

The child was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Kanawha County Schools spokesperson confirmed a student was being cared for by emergency officials.

“We can confirm that a Kanawha City Elementary student was transported to the hospital for medical treatment this morning,” Briana Warner with KCS said in an email to MetroNews.

“The school took all appropriate steps. We cannot comment further due to student privacy.”

No other details have been released at this time.
