Woman killed after being struck on Silver Bridge

POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. — A woman was struck and killed on the Silver Bridge in Point Pleasant early Thursday morning, authorities said.

The woman was walking across the bridge from Point Pleasant to Ohio when she apparently stepped in front of a vehicle and was struck, deputies said. The collision happened at around 4 a.m. Thursday.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation is underway.
