Field set for A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The official field is set for A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier. Competition begins for the opening event on the 2019-2020 PGA Tour calendar Thursday, September 12th.

Twelve-time PGA Tour winner Zach Johnson will make his first appearance in White Sulphur Springs. Johnson has competed on five United States Ryder Cup teams and owns a pair of major championship victories (2007 Masters, 2015 Open Championship).

Bryson DeChambeau is the top-ranked golfer in the field. He is currently 10th in the Official World Golf Ranking. This will be DeChambeau’s second appearance at the Greenbrier event. He finished tied for 14th in 2017.

Two-time Masters champion and Greenbrier resident Bubba Watson will compete in the event for the sixth time. His best results came in 2015 and 2018, when he finished tied for 13th place.

Defending champion Kevin Na is one of five former winners in the field. He is joined by Stuart Appleby, Ted Potter Jr., Scott Stallings and Danny Lee.

Four more spots will be awarded in the qualifying event on Monday, September 9th at Glade Springs Resort in Daniels. The list of competitors for the qualifying tournament can be viewed here. Capital High School and Marshall University graduate and Korn Ferry Tour professional Christian Brand will attempt to qualify.

West Virginia Amateur champion, Bridgeport native and Georgia Southern sophomore golfer Mason Williams will represent the mountain state in the tournament field. He clinched his spot by winning the state amateur tournament last month.
