BIG CHIMNEY, W.Va. — The wreck of a large truck carrying logs closed Interstate 79 northbound near Charleston for about two-and-a-half hours Friday morning.

The wreck was reported at about 3:50 a.m. approximately two miles north of the Big Chimney exit. There were no injuries.

Crews had the dumped logs removed and the all lanes reopened by 7:40 a.m.

During the detour, motorists were being directed off the Big Chimney exit, north of U.S. Route 119, and then back onto Interstate 79 north at the Elkview exit.
