Mylan Park Foundation asks for funding release

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The Mylan Park Foundation has asked the Monongalia County Commission to release $80,000 of the Coalbed Methane Fund to facilitate new development.

The property is 19-acres behind PACE Enterprises and the Mylan Park Elementary School.

A gravel road currently provides access to around nine homes that will have to be relocated to allow the project to move forward. A road relocation project scheduled for 2022, and the reimbursable grant for the relocation to begin within the next month.

“If we can relocate that road, basically there’s a big curve in that road, we’ll straighten it our to allow us to sell the property to be developed,” said Ron Justice, the president of the Mylan Park Foundation.

Reports indicate a nursing home facility will be built on the site.
