Monongalia, Preston United Way gets annual campaign underway

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties is 20% toward its goal for its 2020 campaign.

The organization has set this year’s marker at $1.35 million.

Executive director Brandi Helms said the organization is focused on health, education and financial stability.

“If folks have a good education they can get a good job, financial stability and health throughout their lifetime, we think that gives them a real opportunity to be successful,” she said.

Among the parties involved in the fundraising includes Monongalia County Schools — which has raised $46,199 — and pacesetter companies have raised $233,074.

Pacesetter companies include BB&T, MVB Bank, HealthWorks and Jackson Kelly PLLC.

The United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties raised more than $1.2 million in its 2019 campaign.
