3 Ohio men arrested in Huntington, face drug charges

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Three men from Columbus, Ohio, face charges after police recovered thousands of dollars worth of drugs.

Members of the Huntington Violent Crime Drug Task Force and Huntington Police Department’s SWAT Team searched two residences in the 2100 block fo 9th Avenue and the 1900 block of Foster Avenue. Six people were detained.

The men charged include Demetrius Marquis Harmon, who faces a charge of one felony count of conspiracy to deliver drugs; Antwan Lamar Sherrod, who faces two charges of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and a charge of possession of drugs with the intent to deliver; and Mark Norton, who faces two charges of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and a charge of possession of drugs with the intent to deliver.

Detectives recovered more than $110,000 worth of drugs, including powder cocaine, crack cocaine, a suspected heroin/fentanyl mixture, OxyContin, Suboxone and marijuana. Police also recovered a bullet-proof vest, $1,200 in cash, two vehicles, a large drug press, numerous false bottom containers and drug paraphernalia.

Huntington police said more arrests are expected.
