Number of completed RISE homes goes up to 69

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Fifty-two homes in the RISE West Virginia program are in active construction.

The West Virginia National Guard released an update on work on Friday; the number of completed homes in the program is 69 residences.

West Virginia Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters continues to assist in reconstruction and rehabilitation projects; one project in Kanawha County moved closer to completion as crews worked on framing for a porch. Four other projects are under construction and three rehabilitation projects are underway.

The National Guard noted 360 active cases have been awarded to a contractor or sub-recipient. Eighteen projects are out for bid but undergoing the required state procurement process, and 21 projects are awaiting a request for a quotation or being analyzed through the case management process.

Crews also worked on an eighth bridge home project. Seven bridges are complete so far, and 59 other projects are in the case management process.
