Ohio County magistrate reappointed following questions of her education

WHEELING, W.Va. — Just more than two weeks after resigning from her position, Janine Varner was been reappointed as an Ohio County magistrate.

Teresa Toriseva, Varner’s attorney, confirmed to MetroNews that Varner is back after passing her GED.

Varner resigned on September 20 after she was suspended without pay by the state Supreme Court of Appeals for “engaging in a serious violation of the Code of Judicial Conduct,” after it was discovered she never finished high school.

Varner will begin service following a 20 day probation period.
