Missing Boone County man found dead

WHARTON, W.Va. — A Boone County man who had been reported missing since Sunday was found dead over an embankment on Monday.

West Virginia State Police said Barry Harper, 56, was found dead around 8 a.m. on Route 85 near Rockwell Mining and Wharton.

According to State Police, Harper’s truck was stuck and he fell over an embankment trying to get out.

The 56-year old man was reported missing Sunday by his family after he never returned with his truck.
