Trooper injured in Mercer County wreck

PRINCETON, W.Va. — A West Virginia State Police trooper and another man are recovering from injuries suffered in a two-vehicle accident in Mercer County.

According to WVSP, the accident between Cpl. D.R. White and Donald Brown of Collinsville, Va. occurred just before 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of Thornton Avenue and Short Street in Princeton.

Police reports indicate that Brown made a left turn onto Radio Lane but went into the path of the state police cruiser, then making contact.

Both drivers were transported to a local hospital and were listed in stable condition.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
