Teenager charged with murder following Huntington stabbing

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A teenager has been charged with murder in Huntington.

Huntington Police said a 17-year old stabbed Sterling Michael Kane Edwards, 26, of Detroit, around 8:20 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of 10th Street and Monroe Avenue.

WSAZ-TV reported that officers arrived on the scene and found Edwards lying on the sidewalk with multiple stab wounds.

He was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police said the suspect is also from Detroit and was treated for minor injuries after police found him near the scene.

The suspect is currently being held in a juvenile detention center.
