Morgan County deputy injured, business damaged in crash

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. — A Morgan County deputy is recovering from injuries sustained in a Monday crash.

Morgan County Sheriff KC Bohrer confirmed Deputy Dennis Jenkins was one of two deputies responding to an armed robbery call near the West Virginia/Virginia state line. Deputy Jenkins was involved in a crash at the intersection of Route 522 and South Ridge Drive.

Deputy Jenkins was taken to War Memorial Hospital for treatment. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Morgan County K9 Troy was in the vehicle at the time of the crash, but was not injured.

Sheriff Bohrer confirmed there was “significant damage” to Deputy Jenkins’ Ford Explorer police cruiser. Damage was also reported at the Total Image Salon on Valley Road.

Sheriff Bohrer has requested a West Virginia State Police investigation since the crash involved one of his deputies.
