CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Upshur County Sen. Bill Hamilton will serve as chairman of the chamber’s Natural Resources Committee, Senate President Mitch Carmichael, R-Jackson, announced on Monday.

Sen. Bill Hamilton, R-Upshur

Hamilton replaces Sen. Mark Maynard, R-Wayne, who was named to lead the Committee on Government Organization. Maynard replaced former Nicholas County Sen. Greg Boso, who resigned in September because of a job change.

“I’m looking forward to working on building cooperation between sportsmen and the Department of Natural Resources to improve our recreational opportunities for all West Virginians,” Hamilton said.”The outdoors is a major component of our state’s tourism industry, and I am always eager to grow that sector of our economy.

Hamilton was elected in 2018.
