Wirt County claims 12th state volleyball title, sweeping Paden City

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Wirt County added another state championship to their prestigious volleyball history with a 3-0 victory over Paden City in the Class A state championship.

The Tigers won the first two sets by identical 25-17 scores and closed out the match with a 25-13 win in the final set.

Wirt County closed out the season with a 39-4-4 record. Paden City made their first state tournament appearance and wrapped up the year with a mark of 36-5.
