Monongalia County police link shots fired call to drug case

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A report of shots fired in Monongalia County Saturday led to the arrest of two people according to the sheriff’s department.

At 12:42 a.m. police began the investigation at a residence on Snake Hill Road. Police found three shell casings on the porch and the front door was open.

Upon entering police made contact with Kyle Martin, 32, of Morgantown. When police conducted a consent search of Martin they found MDMA pills, cocaine, heroin, more than $6,000 in cash and four handguns, on reported stolen.

While waiting for a search warrant to be processed an Uber driver pulled into the driveway, then backed out and continued to the water tower on Snake Hill Road.

Police made contact with the driver and learned the passenger had been picked up at the Greyhound Bus Stattion in Pittsburgh and was being taken to the residence on Snake Hill Road.

The passenger, Darius Wade, 26, of Grosse Point, Michigan told police he was trying to get to an address in Star City. The Uber driver told police he was instructed to take Wade to the Snake Hill Road address.

When police searched a duffel bag Wade was carrying they found 200 grams of heroin and 60 grams of cocaine.

Wade and Martin have been charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and are being held.
