Unbeaten West Virginia women’s team enters Top 25

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Winners of each of its first three games, the West Virginia women’s basketball team cracked the Associated Press Poll at No. 25 released Monday.

The Mountaineers received 68 points to make their season debut in the Top 25.

Baylor, at No. 2, is the only other Big 12 Conference member in the poll.

West Virginia (3-0) has posted lopsided wins over St. Francis (Pa.), Presbyterian and Radford to start the season.

Junior guard Kysre Gondrezick leads WVU with 22 points per game. The team’s leading scorer last season, Tynice Martin, made her season debut Sunday in the win over the Highlanders.

The Mountaineers are back in action at 10 a.m. Thursday when they welcome Coppin State.
