Pedestrian struck and killed in Fayette County

OAK HILL, W.Va. — A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle in downtown Oak Hill Wednesday.

According to police, the victim, an adult male, was walking on East Main Street when the incident occurred. He was transported to Plateau Medical Center where he later was pronounced dead.

The identities of those involved have not been released.

No charges have been filed against the driver, who was interviewed at the scene.

An Oak Hill Police Department spokesperson said investigators are reviewing video of the accident recorded by a nearby business.

West Virginia State Police are assisting in the investigation.
