One dead in single-vehicle accident in Mason County

HARTFORD, W.Va. — One person is dead and another is in the hospital following a vehicle accident in Mason County on Sunday morning.

Mason County Sheriff’s Office said the single-vehicle wreck happened on West Virginia Route 62 around 4:40 a.m. in the Hartford area.

The passenger in the car was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver was flown to CAMC General, per Mason County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said that the driver may have lost control of the vehicle while making a turn.

The names of the victims have not been released or the condition of the person flown to the hospital.
