Mason County deputy injured in shooting incident

MASON COUNTY, W.Va. — A Mason County Sheriff’s deputy is recovering after a shooting incident on Sunday.

According to authorities, the incident happened at a home in the 1300 block of Whitten Ridge Road.

The deputy is in stable condition at a hospital. An investigation is underway.

The alleged shooter, Robert Glenn, 81, was taken into custody Sunday. Deputies went to Glenn’s home after he allegedly shot a caretaker Saturday. He’s charged with malicious wounding and attempted murder.

Authorities said both the caretaker and the deputy suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
