CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — The City of Clarksburg will hold a New Year’s Eve celebration featuring a ball drop, fireworks and a performance by the Davisson Brothers.
Tickets were still available as of Tuesday morning for the concert featuring the Davisson Brothers with special guest Chris Knight in the Robinson Grand Theater at 8 p.m.
After the show residents are encouraged to welcome 2020 with the official ball drop and fireworks display at Jackson Park.
City leaders say they want to create a new tradition to build community pride.
“We’re trying to improve the lives of people who live in Clarksburg and improve economic development–so having a party that’s open to the public it inspires people to be more festive and be more involved with their city,” said New Year’s Eve Bash planning committee member. Lindsey Bailey-Cain,
Robinson Grand Theater Executive Director Ryan Tolley said it’s always good to have the Davisson Brothers.
“We consider them our hometown heroes for sure,” Tolley said. “They were born and raised in the Harrison County area and are always so generous to come back.”
Tolley said the Robinson Grand wants to be center of the celebration.
“Whether it be old traditions or to start new ones, the Robinson Grand wants to be the center of that just like it is the center of this community,” Tolley said.
