Justice filing paperwork Thursday for his and Trump’s campaigns

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Gov. Jim Justice will be filing paperwork on Thursday for two candidates for public office.

The first candidate: himself, as he seeks a second term as governor.

The second: President Donald Trump, who, like Justice, is a businessman who entered politics.

The governor is seeking the Republican nomination for this year’s gubernatorial contest; he was elected to the position in 2016 as a Democrat but switched political parties in August 2017 at a Trump rally in Huntington.

Justice serves as an honorary chair of the West Virginia Trump Victory team. Justice’s campaign staff includes members of Trump’s 2016 campaign, including campaign manager Mike Lukach and advisers Bill Stepien and Justin Clark.
