Arrest made in Mingo County shooting death

DELBARTON, W.Va. — A Mingo County man has been charged in the Tuesday night shooting of another man.

Donald Marcum, 63, of Delbarton, is free on bond after being arraigned on a second degree murder charge Wednesday.

A criminal complaint said Marcum saw something being stolen from his property Tuesday night. He starting looking for the vehicle involved. Authorities said Marcum located the vehicle a short time later and a man identified as James “Buddy” Gannon was inside it and pointed a gun at Marcum who fired his weapon.

Marcum posted a $100,000 property bond.
