First lady recognizes winners of Create a Quarter contest

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The winners of First Lady Cathy Justice’s Create a Quarter for West Virginia contest were announced Friday.

The contest allowed high school juniors to re-create the tails side of West Virginia’s state quarter.

Justice selected the winner, Jada Morris of Poca High School, at a reception at the state Culture Center. Nine other students were recognized for their placements, as well as five students for honorable mentions.

Each student will receive a gift card.
