Wrong-way crash claims 2 lives in Randolph County

ELKINS, W.Va. — Two men were killed in a wrong-way crash in Randolph County Wednesday evening.

According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department, a driver was traveling east in the westbound lanes on Corridor H, U.S. Route 33, four miles east of Elkins when his vehicle collided head-on with vehicle traveling west. The collision claimed the lives of both drivers, who were traveling alone.

Deputies said the driver headed the wrong direction lived in Harman. He was 60. The driver heading west was 40-years-old and from the Dailey area. Their names were not immediately released.

The crash occurred at around 6:48 p.m. Wednesday. Deputies are continuing their investigation.
