MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The Morgantown Utility Board and Mountainline bus services announced changes Tuesday because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The Morgantown Utility Board will not shut off services past payment deadlines.
“We’re trying to conduct business with the public through phone, mail or email,” general manager Tim Ball said. “We’re trying to practice social distancing. That’s the most significant thing we can all do to flatten the curve.”
Ball told WAJR-AM when the emergency ends, customers will receive new notices and billing will resume.
Mountainline general manager Dave Bruffy said lines halted because of spring break will not resume until further notice.
“Some of the people that use the service are health care workers and first responders,” he said. “They need to have a way to continue to get around.”
Bruffy said drivers have received guidance on good hygiene. Medical sanitizing wipes are available on all buses.
