Three additional coronavirus cases confirmed, bringing statewide total to five

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Three new cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed in West Virginia, the state Department of Health and Human Resources announced Thursday evening.

According to health officials, two of the identified individuals are from Tucker County, and the third person is from Monongalia County. All three people are being treated at their homes.

The announcement brings the number of confirmed cases in West Virginia to five. The two other cases are in Jefferson and Mercer counties.

According to the state Department of Health and Human Resources, 224 people have been tested for COVID-19, in which 219 results have come back negative. Thirteen test results are pending at the state lab.
