Manslaughter charges filed in Monongalia County shooting death

MORGANTOWN – Charges have been filed in a deadly domestic incident in Monongalia County.

Donald Davis, 73, of Morgantown, has been charged with voluntary manslaughter in the death of his 51-year-old stepdaughter.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported domestic incident at a residence along Babbling Brook Road on April 29. Davis, who initially reported the incident to police, allegedly shot Tamitha Pillo in the chest with a .380 caliber pistol. Pillo was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Davis was arraigned in Monongalia County Magistrate Court and released on bond.
