Deadly holiday weekend in Mountain State

STATEWIDE, W.Va. — There were several activity-related deaths in West Virginia during the long holiday weekend, several involving ATVs.

A woman identified as Briana Armstrong, of Oak Hill, was killed in an ATV crash Saturday night near Kopperston in Wyoming County. Deputies said a side-by-side struck a bridge an overturned.

A father and daughter died in an ATV crash Saturday night in Preston County.

An vehicle collided head-on with an ATV Sunday in Mercer County claiming one life.

State police have charged Ricky Olivo, 40, of Woodstock, Va., with DUI causing death after the collision on Crane Creek Road. He was driving the vehicle that collided with the ATV. Corey McKinney was killed and his wife Sabrina McKinney was injured, troopers said. The couple had just gotten married Saturday.

One person was killed in a Fayette County crash Monday.

Deputies said Randy Acord, of Beckley, crashed his motorcycle in to a vehicle on Meadow Bridge Road at about 3:30 p.m.
