West Virginia, Texas A&M, Tennessee, LSU, USC, Oklahoma, Georgia and Texas are included on Johnson’s latest list, which he released Tuesday afternoon. Johnson has offers from two dozen ‘Power 5’ programs and is listed as a 5-star product by some recruiting services.
Johnson has been a member of three Bluefield teams that played in the Class AA state championship game. The Beavers won the title in his freshman season of 2017. Johnson’s junior season was cut short by a foot injury in September.
WVU has already secured a Class of 2021 verbal commitment from 4-star Spring Valley lineman Wyatt Milum and the Mountaineers remain in the running for 4-star South Charleston defensive lineman/linebacker Zeiqui Lawton. Lawton lists WVU in his Top 5 schools alongside Boise State, Cincinnati, Illinois and Oregon.
