Overdose outbreak in Wheeling

WHEELING, W.Va. — Wheeling Police confirm the city experienced six overdose in a period of 24 hours.

WTRF-TV first reported the pattern of incidents Friday night.

There were four overdoses at 11:30 p.m. Thursday night. By 11:45 another overdose was reported in a vehicle alongside I-470 in Wheeling. The sixth overdose came at a home on Wheeling Island around noon Friday.

All of those who overdosed were administered naloxone by either police or responding fire fighters All six victims are recovering.

Police have not indicated if the overdoses were somehow connected.
