SPORTS VIDEO JOURNALIST/NEWS PRODUCER

Job summary: Full-time position as part of the WV MetroNews team, generating HD video content with a concerted focus on West Virginia University athletics. This position is based in Morgantown.

We’re seeking a talented digital videographer/producer with a keen eye for shooting and editing live-event packages and the news judgment to spawn enterprise pieces—all with the aim of helping our volume of Mountaineers coverage remain the best in the state. You’ll travel to cover the football, basketball and baseball teams, and be counted on to deliver coverage of other events such as the PGA Greenbrier Classic and high school state tournaments.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, telecommunications or communications preferred with multiple years of work in broadcast or online media production. Understanding of journalistic principles; hands-on experience in writing, reporting, editing, production and on-air delivery in radio/TV/online streaming; ability to produce a large quantity of professional work on deadline.

Experience with Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, NewTek TriCaster and a compulsion to keep abreast of the latest technologies involving video/audio production and delivery.
