Sports Reporter / Anchor / Writer, Morgantown, WV

The MetroNews Radio Network (wvmetronews.com) has a rare opening in its sports department.

The responsibilities include anchoring, reporting and generating content for the website. Our focus is on regional and statewide high school sports, but there are also opportunities to cover West Virginia University sports.

Our sports programming includes long-form coverage of West Virginia high school and college sports, state championship events in football, boys and girls basketball and baseball, as well as live television and video streaming of sports events.

The ideal candidate should have a degree in journalism, broadcasting, communications, or other related field.

Multimedia Senior Account Executive

MetroNews Radio Network is expanding its reach with video streaming and television advertising, multimedia sponsorships and corporate partnerships. The Senior Account Executive will have primary responsibility to plan and execute sales of statewide, regional and national sports and media properties. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years previous sales experience in media (specifically television and multimedia). Candidate must have knowledge of media production including radio, television/video and print, and a proven sales record.

MetroNews video assets include Talkline with Hoppy Kercheval, Sportsline with Tony Caridi, WVSSAC high school football, basketball and baseball, MEC football and basketball and personality-driven podcasts.

Duties include, but are not limited to, successfully driving new and incremental revenues by developing, soliciting and servicing multimedia opportunities and corporate partnerships; prospecting new business and potential corporate partners; developing and pitching sponsorship packages designed to meet client needs; closing new business; and activating sponsorship packages.
