However, bad seasons strike the best of programs. Just ask Coach K following the loss to Huggins in the Sweet 16 game in 2007. Check with Calipari regarding the Elite 8 loss to Huggins in 2010. We'll have our day again. I personally can't understand the lack of patience with a man who's won well over 700 games and has coached over 1,000. If not Bob Huggins, then who would y'all turn this team over to? By the way, Beilein seems to think he's better off in Ann Arbor. We barely got by Creighton (Tyrone Sally dunk in the waning seconds) in the opening round of his Elite 8 run and luckily upset Wake Forest. Our quality and quantity of wins have certainly increased under Huggins. By the way, recruiting suffers when the fan base loses patience with the coaching staff. Keep that in mind next time you feel the need to voice displeasure on the heels of a win... Every year, we hear about a new plan to raise ticket prices, rearrange seating packages and set up more "high profile" (read larger donation level) areas for both football and basketball. When you constantly ask the fans to pay more, do not be amazed when they ask for more in return and are somewhat dismayed when they actually get less for their hard earned money. True team spirit died when the program became totally about business. Living now in the Pittsburgh area we wittnessed the rough year Pitt had last year..There were all kinds of reasons given for their demise,,last time I looked ,,they are doing just fine this year. You can put the blame on Huggs,,you can point the finger at the players,,you can use all the excuses you want,,Bottom line is ,,like Kentucky,,like N.C This team is experiencing some rough sledding..Put your BIG BOY pants on folks,,keep the faith,,Bob Huggins didn't all of a sudden forget how to coach,,the players we have now are a talented bunch,,they didn't just forget how to play..sometimes things just don't mesh,you don't quit ,you don't slam them,you support them.. He has not beeen a great coach for last 2 or 3 years. He may be a great coach in future years. I hope so because we are stuck with him because of a long term lucrative contract. . He has not recrutited well recently and run off half of those he has recruited .If he does not get better in those two areas we will not be successful. This suggestion that if they would just play like they are coached everything would be all right is self serving and absurd. Winners win and losers explain. Coach Huggins was a great coach.
