Fairmont teacher arrested on sexual abuse charges

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — A Fairmont teacher has been arrested on sexual abuse charges.

Police charged Michael J. Waller, 29, of Fairmont, on Wednesday with four felony counts of sexual abuse by a person of trust to a child.

Waller is employed as a driver’s education teacher at East Fairmont High School.

Police said an investigation revealed Waller was having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old female student at the school.

Waller was arraigned in Marion County Magistrate Court and released on a $100,000.00 cash or surety bond.
