Fantasy camp: Competitive juices flowing

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The latest iteration of Bob Huggins’ fantasy camp is taking place this weekend, with campers and former WVU players engaging in friendly games that turn competitive after a few trips down the court.

“You think they are just going to go in and enjoy themselves and they start playing and those competitive juices start flowing a little,” Huggins said. “All of sudden, they all want to win and you’ve got guys out there diving on the floor, taking charges. That doesn’t go away. You think it does but it doesn’t.”

The former players serving as celebrity coaches this year includes Phil Collins, Mike Gansey, Damian Owens and Darryl Prue and Cam Thoroughman. Games ar being staged at the WVU Coliseum as well as the team’s practice facility.

The camp opened Friday and concludes Sunday.
