Herd gets verbal from Hyleck Foster

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The Thundering Herd has received another football commitment to the class of 2014. South Carolina athlete Hyleck Foster gave his verbal commitment after attending Marshall’s elite camp this past weekend.

Foster is a 5-foot-10, 176-pound wide receiver/running back for Gaffney High School in South Carolina, whose stock has been rising.  According to 24/7sports.com, Foster also had several other scholarship offers, including one from WVU. Several sources at Rivals.com disputed WVU’s scholarship offer.

Last season Gaffney High won the AAAA South Carolina state championship largely thanks to the legs of Foster. He rushed for 1,575 yards on 240 carries and scored 22 touchdowns. He also caught 27 passes for 204 yards and a touchdown.

In college, Foster is projected to be a slot receiver.
