A West Virginia soldier is killed in action in Afghanistan.

The Army identifies the victim as Specialist Julian Berisford of Benwood, West Virginia.  The 25-year old was killed Wednesday when his unit came under attack.

Berisford enlisted in the Army in 2007.    He was on his first tour of duty and had been serving in the Afghanistan theater of operations since March. 

He was due to come home on leave next week to attend his daughter's birthday party.

Berisford leaves behind a wife and the little girl.
