It hasn’t quite reached pipeline status, but West Virginia pulled a second commitment out of Itawamba (Miss.) Community College, according to Rivals.

Receiver Ronald Carswell, a former Alabama signee, pledged to the Mountaineers, joining junior-college teammate Terrell Pinson.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Carswell, originally a three-star prospect out of Macon, Ga., grayshirted in 2010 and spent the 2011 season redshirting with the Crimson Tide. This season as a freshman at Itawamba, he was a possession receiver with a team-leading 44 catches for 429 yards and one touchdown. Recruited by WVU offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson, Carswell has three seasons of eligibility remaining.

“He plans to enroll in January and is an explosive athlete that will most likely settle in at the inside receiver position for the Mountaineers,” said Rivals writer Keenan Cummings of WVSports.com.

Thanks to Carswell, and the latest commitment of Jacksonville, Fla., three-star safety Malik Greaves, WVU has 20 commitments for 2013. Though the team rankings remain fluid until National Signing Day in February, Rivals currently slots West Virginia’s class at No. 31 nationally.
