Man shot, killed in Preston County

A Preston County man shot and killed his father Tuesday morning, according to a criminal complaint.

Police say Robert Dale Tasker shot his father in the Cranesville area before noon Tuesday.  The victim has been identified as William Howard Tasker Jr.

Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the case.  A possible motive has not been released, but the complaint suggests Robert Tasker went to his father’s home with the intent to kill him.

Police say Robert Tasker admitted to the crime.  He was arraigned in Preston County Circuit Court Tuesday afternoon.

An investigation continues.  Sheriff’s deputies are expected to release more information.
