Spring Mills High School has its new head football coach as 41-year old Derek Munson was approved to the position this week. Spring Mills is set to open up its doors in August out of Berkeley County.
The school is expected to include part of the current Hedgesville and Martinsburg student bodies which have become overcrowded. It’ll be a unique first season for Munson’s club as the school won’t have a senior class for 2013-2014. Only students in 9th, 10th and 11th grades will attend the school in its first year.
Munson has been a teacher at Spring Mills Middle School and has been a part of staffs at Hedgesville.
