NiSource Gas Transmission & Storage is changing it’s name.
The company announced Monday it will be changing its name to Columbia Pipeline Group (CPG).
In a release from the company, officials said the change comes as a way to fully integrate with the established Columbia brand that makes up a majority of their 15,000 mile pipeline operations, Columbia Gas Transmission and Columbia Gulf Transmission.
The company assures customers that the name change will not affect their product or services in anyway.
As units of NiSource Inc., the CPG companies include Columbia Gas Transmission, Columbia Gulf Transmission, Crossroads Pipeline, Hardy Storage, Millennium Pipeline and NiSource Energy Ventures.
In total, the companies operate about 15,000 miles of interstate natural gas pipeline and 37 storage fields, delivering over 1 trillion cubic feet of natural gas per year.
