Garrett Cullen is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of West Virginia University where he received a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast News and a minor in Sport and Exercise Psychology in May of 2010.
He started out with West Virginia Radio Corporation and MetroNews as an intern in August of 2007 while a sophomore at WVU. After covering Mountaineer football and basketball for WVMetroNews.com and working his way into the on-air mix within the company, he was eventually hired on full-time upon earning his degree.
He now serves as the afternoon sports anchor statewide for MetroNews, along with providing local updates in both Charleston and Morgantown. Garrett also continues to cover the Mountaineers and statewide sports on the web as well and is a regular co-host on the MetroNews Statewide Sportsline.
Garrett also plays an integral role in the company’s high school sports coverage throughout the state, producing MetroNews High School Game Night during the football season and rounding up the MetroNews Power Index for boys high school basketball as well.
Garrett grew up about an hour north of Charleston in Mason County, WV where he attended Wahama High School, graduating in 2006.
