The new year is just hours away and police across the state are gearing up for one very busy night.
State Police will have extra manpower out this evening patrolling the roads, pulling over anyone suspected of driving under the influence.
Meanwhile, county and city police will be beefing up patrols as well. DUI checkpoints throughout the state are planned.
Law enforcement is urging residents to designate a sober driver or call a cab.
