Mountaineer Countdown and Point After are the parentheses around every West Virginia University football game.
Beginning an hour before MSN coverage, Mountaineer Countdown provides a highly produced aural excursion for Gold and Blue football fans. There are statistics, of course, but the program is more likely to emphasize the personalities, accomplishments and expectations of both the home team and the opponent. It's great preparation for the upcoming broadcast and excellent briefing for fans ready to cheer on the Mountaineers.
Point After is a post game buffet for fans who have just listened to or attended a Mountaineer game. It includes locker room interviews with coaches and players. Studio host Fred Persinger is joined by the Metronews crew located at the game site. They'll provide game statistics, reports on other games, and offer the Mountaineer faithful a chance to air their opinions.
