A second cast member of the popular MTV show “Buckwild” is arrested in a week’s time.

Michael Douglas Burford was arrested Thursday night on a charge of aggravated DUI.  He’s free on bond after he was booked at the South Central Regional Jail.

Burford, known on the show as “Bluefoot” is the second member of the cast to be arrested this week.   Last Sunday 24-year old Salwa Amin was arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute heroin and oxycodone in Nicholas County.

Amin was released on bond from the Central Regional Jail in Flatwoods.

On Friday, she took to her Twitter page to address the situation.

“I appreciate all my supporters and those that weren’t quick to jump to judgement throughout this difficult time,” Amin wrote.  ”Don’t believe everything you see and read PERIOD. Full story in details will be out soon.”

What a sad commentary on our culture when characters like these are admired and given celebrity status.

  • RLS

Sounds like a classic case of denial.
Addicts will lie to themselves, just like they do everyone else.
Get some help Salwa. You are not fooling anyone but yourself.

"took to her Twitter page...therein lies another sad commentary.

I would suggest that Ol' Bluefoot consider mosaics to while away the time.....worked real well for Otis.

MoJoe's analysis of the show was spot on.

I do not know what is more pathetic. These mid-20 adult's acting as if they were teenagers, and secondly the people who are actually condoning what these people are doing? I read some comments on WBOY's website of people actually defending what these tools are doing. Rather sad.

I agree 100%, it's astounding how many truly stupid people there are in this world.

The hard-working West Virginians do so in the shadows. For most of us, that's okay. We're the moms, dads, coal miners, teachers, doctors, etc. that truly show the intelligence, work ethic, and values of West Virginia. If you work hard, get educated, lead productive lives, help others, or any combination of those things you're typically content to just do your job without celebrity status. Yet, our society celebrates and admires the Buckwilders, Moonshiners, and Teen Moms of the world. How sad.

I hope these kids get help and do something productive with their lives. You're in your mid-20s for goodness sake! Get off that TV show that will be all but forgotten in 36 months and face real "reality."

It's the culture of America now. People love to see a train wreck. What is better for them than to watch a bunch of dumb hillbillies throw their lives away? That's how the country looks at Buckwild. It's an embarrassment that these young adults will have to live with for the rest of their lives, as well as the shame they bring on the rest of us who call West Virginia home.

How long will West Virginia continue to be the "whipping boy" of the US. I am a native West Virginian and is so sad and degrading that shows like Buckwild represent our beautiful state. Can't the state authorities ban these degrading productions in the state? There is no positive here.

  • Medman

The producers knew exactly how to pick a bunch of losers for this show. That was the plan in order to get some misfits to do what they call reality TV. In reality the real losers are the people who watch this crap.

  • RES

I hate to say it because we all know its true, you just can't fix STUPID.

  • ShadyGrove

Arrest them all and maybe they will cancel the show.

  • LEE

Crap like these people make me glad I left the state years ago.

  • wvtomd

what a bunch of losers. each and every one of them. mtv loves the publicity. let me guess, someone put the pills in your purse and you are just a victim, awww.

these kids are a joke, hope they make enough to live on before they have to turn to welfare and food stamps, if they are not on it already.

  • GENEO

Now we should understand, why we are number 49, if you don't understand, then we will never get to higher number.

  • STEVE DAVIS

It's true, you can't fix stupid. But who's more stupid....the kids in the show or the losers who watch? MTV is a business....a skudzy sort of business but a business nonetheless. Buckwild was in on the air because enough people watched it.
