The NBA future of former Mountaineer basketball star Joe Alexander is in question.
Alexander’s current team, the Milwaukee Bucks, have decided not to pick up a $2.76 million option on Alexander. That means Alexander will be a free agent after this season.
This year Alexander was left off the team’s season-opening roster after re-aggravating a right hamstring strain.
“We believe Joe can be a good NBA player, but his latest injury had hampered our ability to further assess his progress,” Bucks general manager John Hammond said in a statement.
Alexander averaged just under five points and two rebounds last season.
